Finishes

Image
I've actually finished a couple of parts of my Papillon Creations SAL at long last...yay! Also a page on my HAED, I know don't faint LOL! Part 13 on my Castles in the Air was finally finished. The only reason this part has taken me so long is that I kept getting sidetracked by other projects.  Loving how this is coming together now. Castles in the Air Papillion Creations Part 13 was finally finished on my Around the World in 80 Stitches, must admit I haven't enjoyed this part as much as the others. The Pistil Stitch gave me some trouble, I've done this stitch loads of times on cotton fabric as freestyle embroidery but this is the first time I've done it on evenweave and didn't enjoy it at all. Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon Creations Finished page 4 of my HAED at long last, the last column has gone quite quickly as it wasn't confetti heavy. Only 2 more pages and I'll have finished the first row :-) Cruising the Informati...

Around the World in 80 Stitches

Image
This week part 12 came out of Papillon Creations SAL "Around the World in 80 Stitches"  Couldn't wait to get working on it and I managed to complete the part before the kids broke up from school for the week.  Here's my version As you can see I decided to do the speciality stitch version, my favourite for this part was the Dunstan Stitch. If you want to join in the SAL please click  Papillon Creations  and it will take you straight there. Yvonne also does a cross stitch version for those who prefer it.

We Had Sun!

Image
Yes don't faint but we've actually had some sun here in Yorkshire!  Last weekend the weather was absolutely glorious so we finally unearthed the kids bikes from the shed and took them out riding. Here's my 3 enjoying the weather.... Put the stabilisers back onto Lukie's bike as it has been a year since it's been out. Darcy had to have a new bike as we discovered she's grown a lot since last year and her bike was miles too small. This is her new one, pink and white as ordered!! But I have done some stitching in between all the usual taxi-ing around of the children and here's where I'm at on my main projects... Castles in the Air by Papillon Creations. Part 11 all finished on the left hand side and part 12 printed out ready. Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillon Creations Parts 1-11 Cruising the Information Highway by HAED Showing April's progress. Not as much as I'd like but you can see my little dragon starting...

Where's Spring???

Image
Lately my stitching mojo has been on a little break, I put it down to the weather. One minute it's cold with snow and the next spring is coming, then snow again :-(  Some nights I'm so tired and cold that the thought of picking up a needle doesn't enter my mind. Mind you I have managed some stitching inbetween the kids activities....here's where I'm at:     Around the World in 80 Stitches - speciality version Papillion Creations  Confetti of Hardanger Bee's Needleworks Fabric "Aries" by Sparklies   Castles in the Air by Papillion Creations  Cruising the Information Highway Heaven & Earth Designs Mary Wigham SAL Other big news at our house is to do with my 3 children... Peter Boo (8)  Lukie (6) Darcy (5) In March Lukie passed his dance exam which was the Waltz, no pictures of his presentation yet as it's in April. He's now learning the Jive for his exam in September. His piano teacher says he...

Image
That's one month gone out of the year already, it's gone by so fast. At the end of January I finally caught the dreaded flu bug that has been going around, a week in bed feeling really rough where my mind was willing but my body definitely wasn't able to stitch! But, I'm on the mend now and my stitching has been resumed...hurray!! Here's what some of my projects look like now... Happy stitching, Jo x

One Stitch At A Time

Image
I've been working hard on my Noah's Ark project lately, finally I can see some actual progress. The Supertwist thread used for the rainbow has really been a pain  challenge to work with but perseverance with lots of encouragement from Friendly Stitchers has had me plodding along.  Not long to go now before I'm on the last 3 pages at the bottom.... Don't faint either but I've finally finished my Purple Flower project. Sat down yesterday with DH who had the day off work and put the last 2 petals together. Stitches used in this are :- Up and Down Buttonhole Chain Bullion Knots Running French Knots Couching Basque Pistil Sheaf Pekinese A quilt square as well. The centre piece was part of my TAST challenge and I just quilted round it. (seriously must start putting these together soon!) I finally managed to complete part 3 of Around the World in 80 Stitches by Papillion Creations as well...here she is And I couldn't resist putting a p...
