A New Start

Image
Before our holiday I had another finish. The lavender needlecase that I've had as a UFO for too long *hanging head in shame*  When it was finally done it held spare needles for Scotland. For my holiday stitching in Scotland I took my Mary Wigham Sampler, this has been sat in my stitching bag for a while with hardly anytime being devoted to it *hanging head in shame*   Although I didn't get a lot of time to stitch on it as we were so busy having fun I did put in a few stitches here and there and this is how it's looking now... Mary Wigham Sampler On our return to Yorkshire instead of carrying on with my HAED I decided to have a break and dig out a project that has been sat in my drawer for quite some time. This is by Country Cottage and is called "She Sells Seashells" I'm stitching it on some 28ct that I found in my stash box, using the threads it calls for which are DMC and Crescent Colours. Finding it really quick and easy to stitch whilst the kid...

Boo!

Image
Our eldest Peter (Boo) taken in September 2009 during Sheffield Dragons Summer in the Square competition. He'd not long since started the Little Dragons karate class. Now he's my little Black Belt. He spent 2 days grading at Sheffield Dragons and on Friday 5th April 2013 he was presented with his 1st Dan black belt. As you can see we bought him a special belt. He's been seeing these belts since he was a Little Dragon and knew that was what he wanted to have one day. Luckily for us he's got 2yrs before he can grade again for his 2nd Dan so lots of time to train and the belt will get plenty of wear!! Boo's Album Boo's Belts

May is Here

May is here and I've not accomplished that much stitching wise since my last post as I've been too exhausted by the time the kids have gone to bed. I have worked a bit on my Noah's Ark, I didn't like the way the sea looked at the bottom of page 2 so frogged it all and started it again. Page 3 is nearly completed...the bit with the sparkly rainbow. Noah's Ark by Bothy Threads I started the Wise Guy Duck for my DD. I don't stitch much with aida anymore so replaced it with some 28ct blue that I had lying around. She loves watching it grow and can't wait until it's done. Wise Guy Ducks Here's where my CITA stands so far, as you can see I've still not completed part 4 but am getting nearer. I had to frog the central urn a few times as I was a stitch out...can you believe the bit that got me frustrated was plain cross stitch LOL!  I have got the threads for the new Papillion Creations SAL Around the World in 80 Stitches but haven't g...

A Stitch-a-Long Week with Dragons

Image
This week has been hectic thanks to the kids being off school for the Easter break and me having some medical issues. One of the positive parts has been that on Sunday I got to chill out with my stitching whilst my DH took care of our 3 children plus Peter's girlfriend Becky who was with us for the day. On Saturday night my 2 boys had their presentation at Sheffield Dragons to collect their new karate belts. Luke our Little Dragon collected his green stripe belt. And Peter our Junior Dragon got awarded his green belt. Stitching My SALs have been going great guns lately. As some of you know last year I joined the Beau Bands SAL with my yahoo group Friendly Stitchers . This was designed by Abi Gurden and is no longer available. But I finally finished my Beau Bands this weekend on my lovely Sunday stitching day. Here is the stitching all completed...now I just have to make it up into the hussif. I've also managed to catch up on my Tree of Stitches and my Little Lace Hardan...

Stitching Time

I've been stitching every chance I get since the kids went back to school. My main project is still my Darcy photostitch but I've also been working on my SALs and a couple of smalls. The boys have been rehearsing for their karate show which had to be postponed from December due to bad weather. I didn't take much stitching with me to Sheffield Dragons as there were so many people around that I didn't get chance to stitch. Here is an update on Darcy...DH says she doesn't look like she's got leprosy now! Here is my  Tree of Stitches SAL up to part 2. I've decided to use the different variegated threads by DMC and Anchor for this project just for a change. I'll pick which one to use everytime the new part comes out. One of my smalls was for a snowflake exchange, I decided to stitch two different designs on the one ornament.  This is what I received in the same exchange from Carla, DD loves the bag but I'm going to use it for hanging on my Lowery f...
