End of Another Year

Image
Well by the end of 2018 I'd managed quite a few finishes on the stitching front. The kids had done some amazing things and although the year started off badly when my father-in-law got rushed into hospital by the end we were looking up again. Although, I do hope for some much needed quiet times in 2019! Firstly here's a round up of my big finishes. There were a few smaller ones but I cannot find the photos (probably on my old phone!)  As you can tell I'm a fan of Heaven and Earth Designs, hoping to have another finish in 2019 :-) Then we have the kids, Lumps finally got to black belt in Taekwondo in September. All three of them completed their Get Active Challenge in the Summer.  We all had fabulous times at the coast this year, from the British Taekwondo training camp in Great Yarmouth in May to visiting Edinburgh in August during the Fringe and then down to Broadstairs in October to spend half term with my mother-in-law.  Peter has moved into his las...

A Last Row

Well the kids have finally broken up for the summer holidays, thank heaven I say as the last few weeks were exhausting. Lukie moved to his senior school for the last week and loved it, even if he was surprised that they still had proper lessons on the last day...welcome to secondary school kids!!  It'll be a few weeks into September I reckon before my heart calms everytime the phone rings, thankfully Boo is at the same school so he'll catch him once a day to check he's ok. Meanwhile whilst the kids are off school I'm planning on plenty of stitching along with lots of fun for them. The boys are doing special training days at Dragons Academy, one of which is a First Responder course which is a junior version of First Aid, then they've Nunchuks and Boo is going to a Pressure Points Seminar (no, I'm not letting him practise on me LOL!) We spent this morning at Crackpot Creations near us where the kids have painted a dragon (Lukie), owls (Darcy), jet and bunny (Boo...

Stitch Faster the Kids are Coming!!

Image
Can you believe we're nearly at the end of the school year already?  Doesn't seem that long ago that Peter moved to Y8 (2nd year seniors for some of us!), Lukie went into Y6 and Darcy into Y4. It's been a very eventful school year, some good and some not so good but the kids enjoy school so they're happy. On the stitching front I've not done too bad. Finished a couple of pages on my HAED's , kitted up one more and half kitted up a second.  Worked hard on my CITA, getting close to finishing it now.  I had caught up on my Seasons SAL but then have fallen behind again as I secretly stitched Lukie a mini as he's mad on them.  Here are the photos... Seasons SAL by Bee's Needleworks Stitched on 28ct Strength by Heaven and Earth Designs Stitched on 25ct 1x1 Courage by Heaven and Earth Designs Stitched on 25ct 1x1 This is how my CITA looked after I finally finished another part. So close to finishing it now, I've started on t...

Read or Stitch? A dilemma

Image
Have you ever felt that some weeks just shoot by and before you know it you're back on Sunday and think "what happened?"  That's happened to me quite a few times in the last couple of months. We've had quite an eventful few months that has included me getting some stitching done and lots of books read. Stitching first I think.... A Heaven and Earth design that I did choose to stitch for me but unfortunately didn't specify this to Darcy who has now put her name on it!! It's a fun stitch and I've really enjoyed working on it, haven't done much in the last 6 weeks though as I've been working on another HAED design called Strength, this is a storykeep though and I've used it for the challenge on the HAED facebook group. The sister design Courage has also been worked on, this time it was for challenge 1. I had hoped to use it for challenge 2 but I needed a full page, fingers crossed on challenge 3 I'll be able to pick it back up...

April Showers

I can't believe my last post was in January, where is this year going?  The weather seems to have finally taken a turn for the better, outside the sun is shining and yesterdays gale force winds with heavy rain seem to have disappeared. Mind you one good thing about bad weather is I get lots more stitching and reading time...yay! Since the New Year I've plodded away at my HAED  and last night finished page 14.  DD is getting quite excited now as she can't wait for me to start her ballerina project. Cruising The Information Highway by Randal Spangler 25ct 1 over 1 I've also been working on the My Garden Journal series by Cottage Garden Samplings   here are May and November. Next one up is December which is going onto Snowy Skies by Sparklies  May from Cottage Garden Samplings Stitched on Stormy Skies by Polstitches November from Cottage Garden Samplings Stitched on Harvest Blush by Sparklies The kids have been extremely busy in the last couple ...

2014's Stitching Year

Image
It did feel like I'd hardly had any finishes this year when I tried to think what I'd completed in 2014. It's only looking back through my photographs and posts that I realised I had actually had some finishes...yay!  I have spent most of my stitching time in 2014 working on Tony's dragon, he's getting a bit impatient to have it finished now so it's going to be my priority in 2015. Here's a quick update on the finishes.... and here are some of my WIPs, a couple I'm determined to finish in 2015 Finally some of my favourite family photos... Happy New Year to you all and here's hoping that 2015 is even better :-)
