HAED Cruising the Information Highway

March seems to have gone before we know it so it's time to show my HAED after another month of stitching. In March I managed to stitch over 3400 stitches, there were parts that seemed to be all confetti and took a lot longer than I wished. Though standing back and looking at it they are worth the effort and the design is starting to come together now.

    Oh wow well done! I have this one to do. I'm currently doing Fireside Fairytales and its all black and browns at the moment and its getting boring lol! Would love to start Information Highway as its colourful. Really looking forward to seeing your progress :-)

Stash It or Stitch It?

This past 2 weeks I've been buying more stash, not much but still more which means my poor stash drawer and box is getting ready to burst.  I wandered through a local bookshop to find a stitching book that I've never come across and it's so rare to find them in our local bookstores. Firstly it was on SALE so I couldn't resist and secondly it has a couple of designs in it that I love and can definitely put them on my to-do list. Then another day I saw 2 charts that I liked the look of so into my shopping basket they went. The first is a snow scene and I'm addicted to snow scenes....much better in stitching than in real life!!  The second is about books which is another love of my life. Stitching wise I've not been doing too badly, I've worked everynight on my gift SAL so that's coming along; not as fast as I wished but still getting there. Spring Catch Up

 As usual time has flown by here in Yorkshire. One minute we're gearing up for Christmas and before I know it Easter half term has arrived and the kids are at home. Since January I've been busy with different crafting projects. One thing I wanted to make myself was a book cover for a notebook that I could use for all my craft projects and ideas.  My husband bought me the Charles Dickens kit from Bothy Threads for Christmas so I couldn't resist starting that on New Years. It didn't take me long to do at all in the long winter evenings.  I had so much fun stitching this even if I had to use the aida that came in the kit as none of my favourite fabrics were the right size (I couldn't be bothered to wait for some to arrive as I wanted to start it straight away!) I also took part in an online workshop with Ellie Hipkin who is an amazing textile mixed media artist. After spending a lot of time walking up and down our local fields I wanted to capture some of it on fabric.
