Another Year Has Flown

Can you believe we're at the end of 2012 already? As a lot of you know I spent most of the year working on the Bothy Threads Cut Thru "Noah's Ark", this kit definitely tested my patience as the Supertwist thread used in it was horrendous to work with....but here it is finished on Friday night around midnight.

Altogether this year I managed to complete over 22 projects which I'm pretty pleased with. I've a list of projects I'd like to complete in 2013 all ready so fingers crossed I'll get some of them done as well. Here are some of my finishes..

At the start of 2012 my vase was empty and all ready for my orts, here's what it looks like tonight after a years stitching. The only orts not in the vase are my ATW and CITA as they have their own bags.
It wouldn't be a fitting end of the year without a couple of photos courtesy of my husband Tony. He's got a new project in the pipelines for 2013 that he's doing with our son Luke so I'm sure you'll be getting to see what they'll be up to.
All that's left is for me to wish you a Happy New Year and I hope you have lots of fun and stitching in 2013 xxx

    Congrats on finishing the ark, Jo. I know what a thorn in your side it's been. It looks great, though! Beautiful photo of the kiddos.

    Congrats on finishing Noah's Ark. Makes me want to start mine. I have about 14 cut thrus (only the charts - I didn't buy the kits). Sure hope I don't have any floss problems.

Stash It or Stitch It?

This past 2 weeks I've been buying more stash, not much but still more which means my poor stash drawer and box is getting ready to burst.  I wandered through a local bookshop to find a stitching book that I've never come across and it's so rare to find them in our local bookstores. Firstly it was on SALE so I couldn't resist and secondly it has a couple of designs in it that I love and can definitely put them on my to-do list. Then another day I saw 2 charts that I liked the look of so into my shopping basket they went. The first is a snow scene and I'm addicted to snow scenes....much better in stitching than in real life!!  The second is about books which is another love of my life. Stitching wise I've not been doing too badly, I've worked everynight on my gift SAL so that's coming along; not as fast as I wished but still getting there. Spring Catch Up

 As usual time has flown by here in Yorkshire. One minute we're gearing up for Christmas and before I know it Easter half term has arrived and the kids are at home. Since January I've been busy with different crafting projects. One thing I wanted to make myself was a book cover for a notebook that I could use for all my craft projects and ideas.  My husband bought me the Charles Dickens kit from Bothy Threads for Christmas so I couldn't resist starting that on New Years. It didn't take me long to do at all in the long winter evenings.  I had so much fun stitching this even if I had to use the aida that came in the kit as none of my favourite fabrics were the right size (I couldn't be bothered to wait for some to arrive as I wanted to start it straight away!) I also took part in an online workshop with Ellie Hipkin who is an amazing textile mixed media artist. After spending a lot of time walking up and down our local fields I wanted to capture some of it on fabric.
